CLOVERDALE, VA— Our New River Electrical team was honored to host Congressman Ben Cline at our corporate headquarters on Monday, October 28, 2024. Congressman Cline represents Virginia’s 6th Congressional District, focusing on American energy security, keeping energy jobs in Virginia, and growing the economy to keep more money in the pockets of hard-working Americans.
Our executive team had the privilege of discussing issues affecting both corporate and personal residences in Virginia’s 6th Congressional District while also advocating for ESOP organizations nationwide. Congressmen Cline was very engaged in conversations regarding New River’s ESOP and nationwide construction workforce needs.
“I am very appreciative of Congressman Cline for his visit to our corporate office. During our executive roundtable discussion, I was impressed with the Congressmen’s knowledge of employee ownership. He was very much aware of the benefits employee-owned companies provide to employee participants as well as the positive contributions that employee-owned companies make to the communities in which we live and work,” stated Ike Poe, President & CEO of New River Electrical. “I admired the Congressman for genuinely engaging and meeting with our employees – he showed great interest in the folks that he represents in Washington.”
After meeting with our executive team, Congressman Cline toured the Cloverdale facility and talked with New River employees about any interests or concerns they may have regarding Virginia’s 6th Congressional District.

The time and care he took with both the executive round table discussion and while meeting my fellow employee-owners was very impactful,” stated Chuck Kidd, Vice President of Environmental Health & Safety. “To be able to have a face-to-face conversation with a Government Representative that also lives in the same area and who can better relate to our needs and concerns is greatly appreciated.”
